Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ZogaGo (“ZogaGo”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use www.zogago.com, app.zogago.com, our mobile apps, and related services (together, the “Services”).

1. Who we are

ZogaGo is a peer-to-peer travel and parcel-coordination platform focused on Bangladesh. We help travelers share routes and senders post delivery or task jobs along those routes.

2. Scope

This policy applies to personal data processed through the Services, including account registration, verification, messaging, job and journey posts, payments for credits, notifications, customer support, and our marketing website.

It is designed to align with common global expectations (including transparency required by Google Play / App Store listings, and rights commonly associated with GDPR-style and similar privacy frameworks). Where Bangladesh law applies, we follow applicable local requirements.

3. Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: (a) you provide it, (b) it is generated by your use of the Services, and (c) it comes from processors we use to operate the product (for example payment confirmation).

  • Account & identity: email address, password (stored as a secure hash), display name, phone number (if provided), preferred language, profile photo, and verification-related details you submit (such as national ID / NID information used for trust checks).
  • Location & route data: pickup/drop-off points, journey origin/destination, map coordinates you choose, and approximate location needed to show relevant jobs or trips.
  • Marketplace activity: job posts, trip posts, bids, assignment status, reviews/ratings, reports, disputes, and related timestamps.
  • Communications: in-app messages, support emails, and safety reports. Messages may be reviewed for trust & safety.
  • Payments & credits: credit purchases, ledger entries, promo redemptions, and payment-provider references. We do not store full card PANs; masked account references may be retained for receipts and fraud prevention.
  • Device & session: device labels, IP address, app/browser type, push notification tokens (e.g. FCM), session tokens, and security logs.
  • Website cookies & local storage: language preference, basic session/UX state, and security-related storage on web. We do not sell personal information.

Sensitive categories: verification documents and government ID details are processed only for identity/trust purposes and access is restricted. Do not upload unnecessary sensitive data in chat or job descriptions.

4. How we use information

We use personal data to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Services (accounts, matching, messaging, credits, notifications).
  • Verify users, reduce fraud/scams, enforce Community Guidelines, and handle disputes or reports.
  • Process payments for credits and send transactional emails/OTPs.
  • Show relevant jobs/trips and personalize language or regional experience.
  • Comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and protect rights, safety, and property.
  • Communicate product updates and service notices. Marketing messages (if any) are optional where required by law.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to run ZogaGo:

  • Other users: limited profile and listing details needed for coordination (for example display name signals, ratings, route/job info). Identity privacy features may hide parts of a name until a match progresses.
  • Service providers: hosting, databases, email delivery, push notifications, object storage for avatars, payment processors (e.g. mobile financial services such as bKash), analytics/error tooling if enabled, and security vendors — under contractual confidentiality and purpose limits.
  • Legal & safety: if required by law, court order, or to investigate fraud, abuse, or imminent harm.
  • Business transfers: if we undergo a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, data may move under continued privacy protections.

7. International transfers

Our infrastructure and vendors may process data in countries other than Bangladesh (for example cloud hosting regions). When we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards consistent with vendor contracts and applicable law.

8. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, including account lifetime, legal/compliance retention, dispute resolution, and security. Session tokens expire according to our session policy. Backups may persist for a limited period after deletion. You may request deletion subject to legal holds and anti-fraud needs.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls, and session management. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong unique password and report suspected account compromise to hello@zogago.com immediately.

10. Your rights & choices

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, update, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. You may also request a portable copy of data you provided.

How to exercise: email hello@zogago.com with the subject “Privacy request”, from the email on your account, and describe what you need. We may verify identity before acting. You can also manage profile details and notification settings in the app/web product where available.

If you are in a region with a supervisory authority, you may lodge a complaint with that authority. We encourage contacting us first so we can help.

11. Children’s privacy

ZogaGo is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete the data.

12. Cookies, local storage & similar technologies

On the marketing site and web app we may use cookies or local storage for language preference, session continuity, security, and basic performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some storage may limit features (for example staying signed in).

We do not use personal information from cookies to sell ads. If we add third-party analytics later, we will update this policy and, where required, obtain consent.

13. Third-party links & payments

The Services may link to third-party sites or open payment flows operated by providers such as mobile wallets. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Review those policies before providing data on their surfaces.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. We will revise the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice in the app, website, or email when appropriate. Continued use after the effective date means you acknowledge the updated policy.
